THE FULL MONTY: Elaine Stritch and a host of other great performers make this revival of the musical about six unemployed guys who become strippers a very entertaining evening of theatre. PICK OF THE WEEK!
BIRD MACHINE: A new physical theatre piece by Concrete Temple Theatre inspired by words of Leonardo Da Vinci.
DAYDREAM: A short adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream crafted for young children and their families, and performed (for free!) in Prospect Park. Delightful.
HOSPITAL 2009: Axis Company presents their annual four-part serial, which explores the inner life of a comatose man. The "Traveller" this year is an astronaut trapped on a ship lost in space.
NEXT TO NORMAL: A searing, intimate new Broadway musical about a woman dealing with mental illness. Alice Ripley stars.
OUR TOWN: A revival of Thornton Wilder's classic play that reveals all of its wisdom and potency. Directed by David Cromer, who also plays the Stage Manager.
SWEET STORM: A charming romantic comedy about a newlywed couple who honeymoon in a treehouse.
THE AMISH PROJECT: Jessica Dickey gives a tour de force performance as seven different characters in this solo show of her own devising, which is inspired by the 2006 shooting of ten Amish children.
THE NORMAN CONQUESTS: Alan Ayckbourn's great trilogy about an adulterous affair gone awry is great fun. It's presented in the round at Circle in the Square.
THE TEMPERAMENTALS: A smart and entertaining play about Harry Hay and his circle, the men who founded the Mattachine Society in the early 1950s, which was the first gay rights organization in America.
