This year's edition of this developmental new works festival features seven new plays and one new musical: The Chimes by Kevin Christopher Snipes, directed by Adam Immerwahr; Departure Lounge by Dougal Irivine, directed by Christopher Gattelli; The Happy Sad by Ken Urban, directed by Trip Cullman; Reborning by Zayd Dohrn, directed by Kip Fagan; The Sacrifices by Alena Smith, directed by Sam Gold; Tender by Nicki Bloom, directed by Daniella Topol; We Declare You A Terrorist by Tim J. Lord, directed by Niegel Smith; and Whore by Rick Viede, directed by Stephen Brackett.

undergroundzero festival. An experimental theater festival curated by Paul Bargetto and produced by East River Commedia in association with Collective:Unconscious. Artists featured, presenting 15 mainstage productions and 5 readings of new plays, include: East River Commedia, terraNOVA Collective, The South Wing, Dangerous Ground, Collective: Unconscious, Pinchbottom Burlesque, Blessed Unrest, Wax Factory & Eric Dean Scott, Coffee Cup (a theatre co.), NU Classic Theater, Pace University's Musical Theater Program, Columbia University School of the Arts, Nora Woolley & Christine Witmer, Thinking Persons Theatre, Saviana Stanescu & playgroundzero, Hoi Polloi, and Wolf 359.

Lincoln Center Festival 09. This is Lincoln Center's annual festival of performance, with 56 artists and ensembles from 14 countries in works never before seen in North America. It's at six venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus, including Alice Tully Hall, where dance will be presented, and Park Avenue Armory. Theatre highlights inlcude: Le Theatre du Soleil's Les Ephemeres directed by Ariane Mnouchkin; Chekhov International Theater's production of Boris Gudonov, directed by Declan Donnellan; Katona Jozsef Theatre (Hungary) in Ivanov; and from St. Petersburg, Russia, Maly Drama Theatre's Life and Fate by Lev Dodin.
