The Lion King is nowmore than nine years old. The show is a visual feast, to the great credit of Julie Taymor, who directed and designed the costumes and (with Michael Curry) the astonishing puppets that are The Lion King's most vaunted attraction. It's based on the hit Disney animated feature, which is itself more or less a transplant of Hamlet to the African jungle. The familiar score from the film, including "Circle of Life" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" is augmented with several additional African-style songs.
