Line, which has been running at 13th Street Repertory Company for more than 30 years, is the longest-running play in off-off-Broadway history. This existential dark comedy by Israel Horowitz (The Indian Wants the Bronx) focuses on a group of people waiting on line for some unnamed event. They don’t know what they’re on line for, but they’re all determined to be at the front of it. Lying, scheming, cheating, and wrestling ensue as Horowitz examines the now-timeless theme of America’s constant desire (and struggle) to be in first place.
