David Ian Lee
DAVID IAN LEE is an actor and playwright. He appeared in the New York debut of Ronan Noone's award-winning The Lepers of Baile Baiste, originated the role of Caligula in Nat Cassidy's The Reckoning of Kit &Little Boots, and played Karel Kapek in the original 2007 production and 2009 remount of Mac Rogers's celebrated Universal Robots. Regionally, he has performed with Actors Theatre of Louisville, Utah Shakespeare, Sedona Shakespeare, Tennessee Rep, Milwaukee Rep, First Stage Milwaukee, Arizona Repertory Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, Seven Angels Theatre, and LA's Haugh Performing Arts Center. Film credits include Crutch, Save the Forest, and a brief flash of his bum in Apt Pupil. He has appeared on As the World Turns, One Life to Live, and—proudly—Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. His plays produced regionally and in New York include SLEEPER (published NYTR 2009), The Dog Show, Liberty &Joe DiMaggio (written with L. Jay Meyer), Pinecone (soon to be a short film), The Latchkey Pool, A Preserving Suite, and the upcoming gothic comedy The Delaware Codicil. A proud graduate of the William Esper Studio, David received his BFA in Acting &Directing from the University of Arizona and has studied with the Upright Citizens Brigade and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He is a contributor to the FLUX Theatre Ensemble, a Playwright in Residence with Small Pond Entertainment, and occasionally frequents The Writers Forum at ManhattanTheatreSource. He spends his evenings at The Olive Tree Caf, drinking coffee and banging his head against his laptop. David will next appear in James Comtois's wickedly deviant Infectious Opportunity.
