Matthew Freeman
MATTHEW FREEMAN is a playwright, actor, and director. His New York playwriting credits include: The Americans and The Great Escape, produced by Blue Coyote Theater Group; The Death of King Arthur, which was published in NYTE's Plays and Playwrights 2002 and produced by Gorilla Repertory Theatre in 2001; Reasons for Moving, produced at HERE Arts Center by The Local Productions and directed by Russel Marcel; Genesis, an adaptation of mystery plays produced by J. Scott Reynolds and Handcart Ensemble; and contributions to festivals of shorts, including his Emily Dickinson-inspired short 465 at Metropolitan Playhouse. He has performed with Gorilla Repertory Theatre (including Midsummer Night's Dream, Ubu is King, As You Like It, Story of an Unknown Man) and directed works by Anthony Pennino at the Red Room and FringeNYC. Matt is a 1998 graduate of Emerson College where he studied with David Valdes-Greenwood and Kristin Linklater.
