Zack Adams: AWKWARD

Producer: Weeping Spoon Productions

Author: Zack Adams

The show is a guitar-driven musical comedy show about awkward situations. Based on various family faux pas, failed relationships and career tales; looking at why I always seem to find myself in these less than desirable situations. The music is rooted in indie rock and the lyrics are comedic, but also quite dark at times. I have performed this show through the Australian Fringe and Comedy Festival circuit and it has been revamped and reworked many times, songs have been constantly updated and added, so I'm quite excited to bring New York audiences what I believe to be the definitive version of the show, as well as the best.

For anyone that enjoys a nice spot of schadenfreude, this is a show worth checking out. Previous audiences have found appeal in getting the opportunity to laugh at the misfortune of others (well, er….me) and being grateful that it isn't happening to them. If you're into well-dressed lanky Australian rockers in fedoras playing guitar and making you laugh (sure, it's quite specific, but I'm hoping it's not a niche market), then my show is the show for you.

I have never been to New York and jumped at the opportunity to perform my show overseas. Of my most recent solo work, this show is the one I'm the most proud of and I hope NY audiences will get a taste of what Australian comedy has to offer.
