China - The Whole Enchilada

Produced by Big Boy Strut Productions

Author: Mark Brown, arrangements and additional music by Paul Mirkovich

China The Whole Enchilada is the entire history of China performed by three men: one is an expert on China, the second thinks China is overthrowing the world, and the third keeps getting China confused with Japan. This irreverent musical covers everything from the beginning of the universe to the 2008 Olympics.

China is on the rise and is everywhere in the news but what do we really know about the Middle Kingdom? China The Whole Enchilada is an excellent primer on all things Chinese. And where else can you see Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan dance the Can-Can or Fu Manchu and Ming the Merciless sing a duet?

In 2005 playwright Mark Brown and his wife adopted a little girl from China. One of their tour guides in China said, "Please tell your daughters there are a lot of good things about China, but also tell them there are some not so good things." China The Whole Enchilada is Mark's response to that request.
