Festival of Hyper-theatre Call for Submissiions
This item from Trey Tatum, Toy Theatre
For our first annual festival of Hyper-theatre in NYC, we are looking for two things: short plays (anywhere from 7 to 15 minutes), and vignettes (any and everything under 7 minutes). Vignettes include monologues, short scenes, dances, songs, anything you can think of. Plays must deal with something small: small people, small problems, small mindedness, small sets, small anything. Submissions are due Nov. 4th, the festival will be held in January.
Electronic submissions only, email to tinytheater@gmail.com Please include your contact information, bio/resume if you have one and a synopsis or brief explanation of how your piece fits Cramped! Any questions or inquiries can be directed to the above email address.

This item is from Susan Jonas, NYSCA
The Theatre Program of the New York State Council on the Arts is releasing a report on its three-year research initiative assessing the status of women in theatre. The initiative sessions produced a body of invaluable historical, anecdotal and statistical information on the ways in which women have confronted, overcome and continue to face discrimination in the field. The panels also produced a series of recommendations both to monitor and to assist women in theatre.
For an e-mail copy of the report write to: info@nytheatre.com.
This page is dedicated to the memory of Frank "Buzz" Willey, who believed in the magic of the theatre and encouraged the success of everyone he met.
