What is your job on this show?
Actor.
Do you like to read plays, or just perform them?
I prefer to perform them. Sometimes the best plays don't read so well as literature. When you get up on your feet in rehearsal, that's when you can tell if the piece is truly theatrical.
Who is more important in the theater: the actor, the playwright, or the director?
They say the theatre is an actor's medium but I believe the playwright is the most important. That being said, you cannot have a great show without all three working in concert.
Why did you want to write/direct/produce/act in/work on this show?
Lorca is one of the finest directors out there. She gets the best performance out of every actor and uses lights, music, sound, and movement to create a unique spectacle for the audience. She truly creates the world of the play.
Groucho, Chico, Harpo, or Zeppo?
Groucho.
How important is diversity to you in the theater you see/make?
I am very turned off when I see that a production has not embraced diversity. It makes me feel that I am not meant to be an audience member, that this production/play is not meant for me, which is nonsense. If more productions would take a risk and cast shows a little more creatively, then the theatre would be able to attract more audience and the work would be more interesting.
