Blown Away by Poetry q&a preview by Liz Parker
July 23, 2012

What is your job on this show?
Co-creator, Actor, Puppeteer & other things.

What type of theater do you like most to work on?
I love working on theatre where both audience members and performers actively participate. My Master's Degree from the City University of New York is in Applied Theatre.

Have you been part of FringeNYC in the past? If so, how did you particpate? (Be specific! Name shows, etc.)
Yes! I stage managed for Billy the Mime several years ago. Billy is a phenomenal performer. Hard to chat with though.

How did you meet your fellow artists/collaborators on this show?
My co-creator saw me scoping the available housing bulletin board at an audition and asked me if I needed a sublet (I looked clean and nice). We have been roommates, colleagues, dear friends and creative partners in the six years since.

Which cartoon character would you identify your show with: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Mickey Mouse, Marge Simpson?
Bugs Bunny because he is funny, smart and energetic.

Can theatre bring about societal change? Why or why not?
Yes, absolutely. Theatre can create an opportunity for participants to experience and practice a new reality.
