What is your job on this show?
What is your show about?
Jaded The Musical is the story of Jade, a talented but troubled young woman with a secret, struggling to survive under the same roof as her mother!
What type of theater do you like most to work on?
I LOVE working on MUSICALS! Musical Theatre is SO much FUN because not only do I get to act, but I get to sing and dance!
What are some of your previous theater credits? (Be specific! Name shows, etc.)
I recently made my Off-Broadway Debut in "Futurology The Musical". Prior to that, I was on 2 National Tours!! "Seussical The Musical" & "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie & Other Story Books". Visit www.HillaryHawkins.com for more!
Do you think the audience will talk about your show for 5 minutes, an hour, or way into the wee hours of the night?
JADED THE MUSICAL is definitely a play that will have you talking into the wee hours of the night because there are SO many issues to discuss! Abuse, Depression, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, anxiety about going to the gynecologist for the first time! hahaha This is a 3-woman show so we do deal with a lot of "women's issues" however the themes of abuse and secrecy transcends gender and are prevalent in today's society. Hopefully, people will talk about some things they may not have otherwise discussed after seeing this show... And for anyone who doesn't want to talk they can hum a tune! JADED THE MUSICAL - Breaking the silence with Pop, Soul, Rap & Blues. Visit www.JadedTheMusical.com
Which “S” word best describes your show: SMOOTH, SEXY, SMART, SURPRISING?
JADED THE MUSICAL is smart. It was created by a Smith College graduate who achieved her Dual BA in Spanish & Creative Writing in just 3 years on the Dean's List and completed graduate coursework in Psychology... I think Psych students and professionals will have a heyday psychoanalyzing JADED THE MUSICAL.... And the general public will enjoy it because not only is JADED thought-provoking and SMART, but highly entertaining.
Can theater bring about societal change? Why or why not?
Theatre absolutely can bring about societal change. Plays have powerful messages and can speak to the masses. Raising covert issues on stage can lead to a much needed dialogue off stage and you never know who in the audience needs to talk about it, whatever "it" may be... With discussion, can come healing.
