My Pussy’s Purrin’ Again! q&a preview by Dyan Forest
January 22, 2013

What is your job on this show?
Playwright Actor.

What is your show about?
A vibrant, 78 year old woman, discovering the purring stirrings of sex at age 12 (oh! Camp Takawalananakiki!), admits to the many lies of her life and discovers no matter how the world has tried to stop her ---her pussys purring again.

What type of theater do you like most to work on?
Having worked many years around the world as an International Singer and the last 8 years as a comedian, I've found that writing and performing in a solo show is the most satisfying. In a one hour show, I can do comedy, tragedy, songs and play all my instruments.

Are audiences in New York City different from audiences in other cities/countries where you’ve performed? If so, how?
Yes. Audiences in New York City are the most receptive and hippest in the world. They love edgy theatre and material and are willing to see innovative performances.

Why did you want to write/direct/produce/act in/work on this show?
I wanted to write and act in this show because I feel that people should be educated in all matters of sexuality. I also want to share the fun and unusual stories of my 78 year young life.

Which “S” word best describes your show: SMOOTH, SEXY, SMART, SURPRISING?

Why are theater festivals so very important?
Theatre festivals are important as they give a chance for new innovative works to be seen. If I didn't get in these festivals, I probably wouldn't have had the chance to grow as a writer and actress.
