Diana Oh is GOING ROGUE, the solo show

nytheatre.com q&a preview by Diana Oh
May 28, 2013

What is your job on this show?
Actor.

What is your show about?
1/2 concert, 1/3 dance party, 1/3 playtime, 1/3 you're not gonna stay in your seats. The math is right. Don't overthink it.

What do you do when you’re not working on a play?
Songwriting, dance parties, laughing with friends, talking on the phone with my mom.

Complete this sentence: My show is the only one opening in NYC this spring that...?
has an extended dance party in the space this Thursday night, May 30 at IRT after our last 9PM show! It also culminates in a 10 hour outdoor concert and dance party on July 6 at the Filling the Well house in Doylestown, PA which all donors are invited to (we fund raised in April!--if you still want to come, email me: ohyeadiana@gmail.com!)

Is there a particular moment in this show that you really love or look forward to? Without giving away surprises, what happens in that moment and why does it jazz you?
The first time I come out to greet the audience. It always brings me to tears. I love touching everyone. Like literally physically touching everyone. Nothing can replace that feeling.

Which “S” word best describes your show: SMOOTH, SEXY, SMART, SURPRISING?
SURPRISING.

Who are your heroes?
My mother. She's the reason why us kids came out cool. Mothers are amazing.
