What is your job on this show?
Actor and writer.
What type of theater do you like most to work on?
Lately, I've really enjoyed working in improvisational comedy--specifically musical improv. I have a musical theatre background and I love improv so making up a musical on the spot is basically the most fun you can have, in my opinion. I love the idea of building something unique and totally original with a group of actors that I like playing with. Conversely, I also love doing my solo show, Danny Visconti is HILL-BENT: My Night with Hillary Clinton, and I look forward to doing more solo work. Does that make me an egomaniac?
Complete this sentence: My show is the only one in FringeNYC that...?
My show is the only one in FringeNYC that combines a respected political figure with a world of drugs, alcohol, gay porn triplets, mandatory drug tests and MUSIC!!!!!!!!
Why did you want to write/direct/produce/act in/work on this show?
I was working on a cruise ship when it all started. I knew I wanted to write something for myself and I knew I had tons of free time and free alcohol at my disposal. This show is the result. I wanted to create something new and unique and it was important to me that the show didn't ask you to take it too seriously or preach too much of a message. I also didn't want it to be one of those solo shows where I just sing from my book. Rather, I wanted the audience to sit back, relax and have fun while the deeply absurd events of this show unfolded. Also, I wanted to write something in which I was the star, naturally.
Which famous New Jerseyite would like your show the best: Snooki, Bruce Springsteen, Thomas Edison?
Definitely Snooki. Think about it: this show involves tons of binge-drinking, music, greased-up naked male triplets, and there's a bar within reach of your seat. She'd feel right at home!
Why should people come to FringeNYC this summer, rather than the beach, mountains, or the latest movie blockbuster?
First of all, a pass to FringeNYC is cheaper than a vacation and most IMAX movie tickets. You'll get a wider variety of entertainment in one place for a lot less money than you would with the other choices listed. Secondly, I'M performing at FringeNYC and I'm told I'm really fun to be around*
