Courtney Act: Boys Like Me q&a preview by Courtney Act
April 3, 2013

What is your job on this show?

What is your show about?
You have read 50 shades of grey, now it is time for 50 shades of pink

Where were you born? Where were you raised? Where did you go to school?
I was born in Brisbane, Australia just outside my mothers vagina. I moved to Sydney at the tender age of 18 where I quickly reaslied I was a flaming homosexual and had a penchant for wearing garb of the opposite gender.

Are audiences in New York City different from audiences in other cities/countries where you’ve performed? If so, how?
They are certainly paler than the LA crowd. This will be my NYC debut, I have done a few club shows there, but this is my first cabaret. I am excited/nervous.

Why did you want to write/direct/produce/act in/work on this show?
I always have so many fun stories and observations living life on the gender divide I thought it was high time I aired my dirty laundry... of course I have changed the names to protect the guilty.

Which “S” word best describes your show: SMOOTH, SEXY, SMART, SURPRISING?
Surprising, especially if the tape comes loose.

If you had ten million dollars that you had to spend on theatrical endeavors, how would you use the money?
I would produce a large production Vegas show staring ME! When I saw Cher perform "Shoes" in her 1982 concert at Caesars Palace (30 years later on YouTube), I got a tear in my eye and knew what I wanted to be when I grew up.
