What is your job on this show?
actor.
When did you know you wanted to work in the theater, and why?
I was in kindergarten and saw a local community theatre production of Ali Baba and the Forty theives....of particular interest to me was a character in the play called the Banana Lady...I can still picture her love song to Banana's....the next day I went to preschool and acted out the story with particular emphasis placed upon the Banana Ladies Star turn....I went to high school in the same town 12 years later and realized the Banana Lady from that community theatre production that enchanted me so was now my High School Drama Teacher Pat Macy. She was extremely encouraging in my decision to pursue acting as a career. And her turn as the Banana Lady was my first taste of a life long love for kooky female character actresses.....your Estelle Parsons, Madelaine Kahns, Sandy Dennis's, Carol Kanes....
What are some of your previous theater credits? (Be specific! Name shows, etc.)
Jeff Whitty's "Suicide Weather" at Playwright's Horizons Studion (pre Avenue Q Fame)
Tabboo!'s "Finokio," "The Nightengale," and "Trois,"
Chris Tanner's "The Etiquette of Death" directed by Everett Quinton
Karen Finley's "Make Love"
Lola Rockn Rolla's "Homo the Musical"
The GLAAD award nominated "Go Go Real" at Dixon Place performed and created in collaboration with London Performance
Art Sensation Johnny Woo
Why did you want to write/direct/produce/act in/work on this show?
Ildiko Nemeth, the Director of the New Stage Theatre Company is Brilliant, and has an unparalleled passion for her work. Working with Ildi is like taking an acting class....she cares deeply, she's an actor's director, having started as an actress herself....she encourages outrageous risks, experimentation, exploration, she casts me in roles no one else would have the balls or the vision to....she is genius, generous and totally commited to her work....Very Inspiring!
