What is your job on this show?
Choreographer/Director, www.companyxiv.com.
Where were you born? Where were you raised? Where did you go to school?
I'm originally from Santa Barbara, California where I started studying Classical Ballet at age 4 and Baroque Dance at age 8. I left home to go to North Carolina School of the Arts and The Harid Conservatory for high school before getting a BFA from the Juilliard School.
Complete this sentence: My show is the only one opening in NYC this fall that...?
blends decadent scenic design, Baroque Dance, opulent costumes, live music by Beatbox Guitar (Rob Mastrianni and Pete List) and accordionist Raphael Fusco, opera singing by Brett Umlauf, Jazzy vocals by Shien Lee, and the magical artistry of XIV dancers and actors to create a theatrical event like no other. Don't miss LA FETE!
Why did you want to write/direct/produce/act in/work on this show?
I enjoyed conceptualizing LA FETE as an opportunity to showcase what I feel Company XIV does best.... we are creating a fun, sexy, decadent evening of dance/theatre that is also character driven. It's a mixture of Baroque Dance, Burlesque, live music, and text by Jeff Takacs.
Which “S” word best describes your show: SMOOTH, SEXY, SMART, SURPRISING?
SEXY!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you had ten million dollars that you had to spend on theatrical endeavors, how would you use the money?
I would absolutely open a larger venue that curates live dance/theatre/music and serves booze.
