How to List Your Show on nytheatre.com
It's very easy to get your show listed on nytheatre.com! Send an email to the site's editor, Martin Denton, at listings@nytheatre.com. You must include the following required information:
- Show title
- Venue name and address
- Date of your first performance
- Date of your last performance. If the run is open-ended, list the latest date for which tickets are currently on sale.
- Your show's website. Ideally this is a dedicated website for your show or company,or it can be the website where people can buy tickets. This should link to a page specifically about your show -- you'll frustrate readers by making them hunt around a website for info about your show. So please use a URL like this: www.smarttix.com/show.aspx?showcode=ABC2&aid=2 rather than simply www.smarttix.com.
You should also include as much supporting information about your show as you can -- a good, interesting description, information about the creative team and cast, and some facts about your company's mission and history. If you are interested in having your show reviewed by nytheatre.com, please say so--and also include the preferred press dates. All of this will help Martin decide whether your show will be reviewed on nytheatre.com.
Our free listings are curated, which means that we don't list every show for which we receive a request. We have two main areas of emphasis: contemporary drama (especially new American plays), and independent theater. Our goal is to help level the playing field by giving prominence on our site to the work of indie artists, nonprofit companies, new and emerging companies and artists, and those who are otherwise under-represented in mainstream media theater coverage.
You'll receive a response to your listing request as soon as possible. Sometimes we won't be able to reply immediately; we appreciate your patience!
Shows are listed on nytheatre.com's Previews of Current and Coming Attractions for about 4 weeks prior to their opening. So send your show info as early as you can to ensure maximum exposure.
And don't forget to send us updates, especially if your show's dates change.
